Hello, I’m Erik Sandell, an artist based in the vibrant city of Stockholm, Sweden. For over two decades, I’ve been pouring my heart and soul onto canvases, creating art that speaks to the soul. Now in my early 40s, I feel like my creative journey is just hitting its stride, and I’d love to share it with you. For the past 20 years, I’ve explored the depths of artistic expression, and in the last two years, I’ve delved deeply into the world of abstract art.

My contemporary work is often made by a fusion of acrylics and spray paint, blending the precision of traditional techniques with the raw energy of street art. Each piece is a reflection of my inner world, shaped by the beauty of nature, the rhythm of music, the complexities of love, and the injustices I see in the world around me.

My goal is to create art that enriches your walls, your home, and your life, bringing beauty, inspiration, and meaning to your everyday space.

My Inspiration

Nature inspires me with its endless forms and colors, I am especially found of the baltic sea, pine trees and being close to water. While music fuels my creativity, guiding my brushstrokes like an invisible conductor. Love, in all its forms, infuses my work with emotion, and the stories I read in news articles often spark a fire within me, pushing me to create art that challenges, questions, and provokes thought.

My art develops in many layers of paint over time, sometimes days, other times months or even years. I take the time to step back and observe my art. I often hang them on walls where I can watch them as they are being created.

When I was a teenager, I stumbled upon graffiti. It was the late 1990s, and the streets of my city were alive with vibrant colors, bold tags, and intricate murals hidden in plain sight. I was instantly drawn to the rawness of it—the way it turned dull walls into canvases of rebellion and self-expression. It wasn’t just art; it was a voice, a statement, a way to claim space in a world that often felt too rigid and controlled.

I was completely captivated and in love with graffiti and street art. My period as an active graffiti painter was short and intense, but this is where my interest in creation was awakened. I have now painted urban art inspired by graffiti, street art and modern art for almost 20 years on canvas.
